Pieter Gilmour

Pieter is often considered our outside-the-box thinker. To be honest, we are not sure that he has ever seen a box. Over the years, Pieter has excelled at finding solutions to problems others often did not know even existed. For example:

• Built a vendor relations team from scratch to drive vendor performance for a telecom organization that was heavily dependent upon significantly underperforming vendor relationships. Net impact seven figures annually.
• Created variation to an existing, mature product line for a telecommunications company that doubled client count within the first nine months. Net impact high six figures annually.
• Devised and implemented data reporting infrastructure that automated processes, eliminated trouble reports from clients and became the incubator for IT projects going forward.
• Implemented culture change via communication and reporting in a telecommunications company that doubled employee productivity, saving seven figures annually.

Pieter was also an instrumental member of the Norlight turnaround and he considers this one of the most significant moments of his career. Not only was this an amazing outcome but this is where he forged his relationships with Pat, Steve, and Chandra, who he rejoins at Motivating Systems.

Pieter loves being part of a successful team and prides himself in assisting others in their success. When Pat asked Pieter to join the team, it was a no-brainer for him to come on board.

A true motivator at heart, Pieter’s passion for motivating others begins with his three children. You will often find him coaching youth sports as he had to have “active” kids. He also enjoys carrying the message of motivation and recognition to whoever is willing to listen. Yes, he is also “that guy.”

After spending twenty-two years in telecom, Pieter is excited to be a part of Motivating Systems and our mission to improve the cultures of those we work with. However, his real dream is to use our Workplace Rewards to motivate his beloved Michigan Wolverines to a championship season.
