Director of Product Management and Reporting
Steve enjoys being tasked with taking things that are broken and fixing them so that they delight the person who is using them. This is true of products, processes, and financial models. He has had success doing this in both telecommunications and financial services. Examples include:
- Managing a voice product that was disappointing many small to medium-sized business customers and working with all facets of Operations to get the product back to the reliability expected
- Finding process and cost efficiencies in a telecommunications business that allowed the company to go from basically giving money away to actually keeping a bunch for itself (he worked with Pat, our CEO, on this one, so Pat gets a little credit, too)
- Cutting the monthly reconciliation process down by 30-50% for clients at the second largest hedge fund administrator in the world so they could find out how much money they made (or lost) more quickly
Steve is used to being thrown into situations where he is not an expert and having to become one—and quickly. He is accustomed to spending a lot of time learning and really enjoys it—heck, he spent seven years in college (getting multiple degrees). Speaking of, he has BA’s in Economics, Psychology, and Secondary Education, as well as a certificate in professional accountancy. This last one led to him suffering through the CPA exam, and passing.
